We wanted to create a fun and interactive photo opportunity in the entrance hall of our church that then carried through into the main church space, and came up with the idea of an automated boomerang feature on the main screen of church. Below is the work flow:
We created a photo opportunity that had an assigned camera person.
They would take a boomerang of groups ofpeople, and then post it on an Instagram account with our Hashtag.
IFTT would then automatically download it to a dropbox on a mac.
Automator would then convert the file to a usable size and save it to a new folder.
Which then a Quartz composition would automatically add it to the main screen, with the latest video in the top left corner.
The fun thing about this was seeing people’s reaction having made a video outside and it was seamlessly added to the screen by the time the entered into the main space. We also did it at a friends wedding. Additionally you had all the videos saved on Instagram with the season’s hashtag.
